More people going solar, thanks to co-op effort

Michele Jackman bought a property on the Range, knowing that the garage had good potential for a solar array.

Now, that array is in place, and producing energy. “It’s generated over four months worth of power in a month an a half. I’m thrilled.”

Wolf Track Energy installed the panels.

She went through Solar United Neighbors and a co-op group, which she said made it very easy.

You can sign up now for the current Iron Range solar co-op. It does not mean you have to buy the panels. Wolf Track has been selected to be the provider for this next group as well.

There’s also federal tax credits of up to 26% this year. “It’s a good time to invest in solar,” shared Bobby King, Minnesota Director of Solar United Neighbors.

Jackman is looking forward to meeting people in her co-op. As for why she did this, her motivation was to reduce her carbon footprint, and do her part in the fight against climate change.
