UMD’s Blake Biondi, Hailey MacLeod & Danielle Brunette enter transfer portal
Hermantown native Blake Biondi is one of three University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) hockey players to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Also joining the portal is sophomore goaltender Hailey MacLeod and sophomore forward Danielle Brunette.
A senior forward, Biondi has a fifth year of eligibility due to joining the Bulldogs as a freshman during the Covid-19 pandemic season of 2020-2021. In four years at UMD, the 2020 Mr. Hockey award winner scored 30 goals adding 27 assists in 118 games played. In 2020 he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL Entry Draft.
MacLeod spent two seasons with the UMD women’s hockey team from 2022-2024. Sharing the starting role in that time, the goaltender posted a 1.32 goals against average and .946 save percentage in 28 games played.
Brunette, skating in 44 games for UMD from 2022-2024, scored two goals in 44 games played.
