Victim in Friday’s vehicle accident near Orr identified

UPDATE: The driver who died in yesterday’s motor vehicle accident was identified as 30-year-old, Erikur John Weber Arnason who resided in Hibbing, MN. 

Around 2:00p.m. on Friday afternoon, area first responders and law enforcement were dispatched to the report of a single vehicle accident on Orr Buyck Road near Myrtle Lake, located in Portage Township, north of Orr, MN.

Upon the arrival of emergency services, the driver of the vehicle, who was the only occupant, was pronounced deceased. Authorities believe speed could be contributing factor to the accident.

The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of their family.

The incident remains under investigation by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and St. Louis County Sheriff’s office.
