SME Minnesota Conference coming up next week, with added educational track for teachers
Something new this year at the annual mining conference and it has to do with education.
The SME Minnesota Conference is around the corner, and back in Duluth this year.
It’s a chance for hundreds of mining professionals to network and learn together.
Katie Larson, Chair of the Minnesota Section of SME, shared that something new this year is the educational track for teachers.
“We want to give them a chance to have the resources to teach K-12 students more about mining, geology, and engineering. We think that’s very important,” she said.
The conference starts Monday and wraps up Wednesday. The theme is Sustainable Mining: Our Past Reveals our Future.
