A slow-moving spring system will be bringing widespread on and off precipitation to the Northland for much of this workweek. Thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday evening into Tuesday night in northwest Wisconsin, but severe weather is not expected. Strong winds are expected Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Winds will be stronger on Tuesday out of the east as low pressure moves into the Central Plains. Gusts of 25 to 40 mph will develop during the afternoon.

You will notice these winds beginning as you take those first steps out the door Tuesday morning. With drier conditions combined with the stronger easterly winds, fire weather conditions will be near critical values once again. Highest winds will be found near the North Shore, where gusts up to 45 mph are possible. Additional precipitation chances arrive on Thursday mainly north of US-2, where some light snow could mix in with rain. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.
