American Cancer Society holds Meet and Greet in Duluth
The American Cancer Society hosted a meet and greet in Duluth on Sunday, April 21. The Society no longer has an office in Duluth, but wanted to let the public know they still provide services to the Duluth area.
“The American Cancer Society office is no longer here in Duluth, however, we are present,” said Sherri Mannum, Senior Development Manager at The American Cancer Society. “We actually have people from Duluth that travel down there for treatments or appointments that utilize the Hope Lodge.”
The Society does have two Hope Lodges in Minnesota; one in Minneapolis and one in Rochester.
Mannum said they had about 160 guests that were cancer survivors that stayed at the Hope Lodge with a caregiver and that saved them about $305,000 in 2023.
In 2024, she said, they’ve had around 51 guest and cancer survivors from the Duluth area that stayed at the Hope Lodge between the two locations.
