UMD men’s hockey alum Ryan Fanti to serve as Oilers’ emergency goaltender
This week UMD men’s hockey alum Ryan Fanti was called up to serve as the Edmonton Oilers’ emergency goaltender during their playoff series with the Los Angeles Kings.
He would see action if there’s an injury to both Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard in a game.
Fanti has spent this season with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets, where he’s recorded a .915 save percentage and 2.75 goals against average in 17 games.
Playing two seasons at UMD from 2020-2022, Fanti had a .921 save percentage and 2.02 GAA in 58 games.
