The semi-annual Duluth Junk Hunt has arrived at the DECC. Early birds were able to shop the vintage finds and repurposed treasures from 4 pm to 7 pm Thursday. General admission will be on Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. Tickets are $5 online or $7 at the door.

The Duluth Junk Hunt started with a half-dozen antique vendors inside the Encounter building in 2012 and has grown to over 150 booths. Due to the growth of the event, they will now be using the entire Pioneer Hall for the first time. 

“We look forward to this event every spring and fall!” says Emily Broman, founder of the Duluth Junk Hunt. “We love watching shoppers come through the doors and marvel at all of our vendors’ beautiful displays & incredible vintage finds!”

An array of different “junk” vendors from all over Minnesota and beyond will showcase all things vintage, antique, and repurposed. This includes an assortment of furniture and home decor as well as jewelry, clothing, and handmade items. There will also be food and beverages from the DECC concession area and a Farmers Market section. 

Shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of the photo booth opportunities, such as beside an old 1946 Ford truck or with the display of different vintage letters. Duluth Junk Hunt t-shirts, totes, and other merchandise will be available for purchase from a vintage camper. The “Junk Hunks” will also be on hand to help customers haul large pieces of furniture out to their cars, free of charge.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local nonprofit. This spring’s featured beneficiary is Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.
