What’s Brewing: North Coast Coffee
North Coast Coffee sits on the South Shore in Washburn, Wis.
It’s owned by four sisters who took it over in 2021.
“My dad was a big coffee lover and then all four of us have worked at multiple different coffee shops and was kind of always a dream to own a coffee shop,” Christina Eliason said.
She said the pandemic brought her and her husband back to the area, and when the opportunity to take over the coffee shop came up, the sisters jumped on it.
“So we offer a wide variety of coffee drinks. We have anything from just plain old brew coffee to lattes. We do matcha. If you’re not a big fan of coffee, we can do like Italian sodas, French sodas. We also have a wide variety of teas,” Eliason said.
Her sister, Amy Zimmerle, demonstrated the variety with a flight of three iced lattes and one matcha drink.
“One thing that people in the coffee world, they get comfortable with what they know,” Zimmerle said. “But then a flight is a great way to still maybe get something that you do know, but then you can try other things.”
There is road construction through downtown Washburn this summer, but North Coast is still accessible.
“Then this year with the road construction, just trying to get a little bit more creative,” Zimmerle said, “so we decided to switch up our signature drinks. So we brought the Brownstone Latte on. And so that is a maple brown sugar latte.”
