Thursday both the Superior and Grand Rapids softball teams earned big late season wins on the road.

Superior defeated Proctor 22-2 at Egerdahl Field. The two have been Lake Superior Conference rivals in recent years, both coming off state tournament runs last season. Superior improves to 12-6 and next hosts Hudson Friday at 4:30 p.m. in their regular season finale. Proctor suffered just their fourth loss to now sit 15-4. They will close out their regular season Friday visiting Rush City at 4:30 p.m.

Grand Rapids shut out Bemidji 5-0 at Bemidji High School. Grand Rapids now boasts an 8-9 overall record.

Section tournaments begin next week.
