A North Woods Grizzlies star is moving up to the big diamond.

On Thursday, River Cheney officially committed to play softball for Augsburg University.

There, she will join fellow Northlander, Carlton native and Esko alum Zoie Johnson, who just finished her junior season.

Cheney also played basketball for North Woods. A senior this year, Cheney would eclipse the 1,000 points mark in her final game.
