Our Memorial Day began with localized visibility problems that have cleared out. Sunshine starts the day, then mostly cloudy skies take over the region along with scattered showers moving in from the west. Light to moderate rain builds into north central and east central Minnesota through the morning with the Twin Ports having the best chance of rain in the afternoon. Most should only see rain, but a few non-severe thunderstorms in the region are also possible.

Scattered showers linger in the region tonight with mostly cloudy skies and lows in mid-40s to low 50s. Tuesday will feature another round of showers and a few thunderstorms moving from north to south across the Northland generally in the afternoon. It’ll be a smidge cooler with highs in upper 50s to mid-60s.

High pressure will clear skies Tuesday night with frost possible near and north of the Iron Range. Wednesday is then sunny with upper 60s to low 70s away from Lake Superior. An east wind will keep lakeside areas a touch cooler. Wednesday night into Thursday morning features more frost chances, mostly in northwest Wisconsin.

Thursday then features widespread 70s for inland communities with an east wind once again keeping cooler temperatures in place near Lake Superior. Widespread rain chances return to the Northland Friday and linger Saturday.
