Virginia man faces assault charges after a bar fight and stabbing from last weekend
Charges have been filed in connection with a stabbing in Virginia.
Israel Contreras, 47, now faces assault and a dangerous weapons charge.
According to the criminal complaint, Contreras thought another man was talking about him, and started a physical fight.
This was outside of Rainy Lake Saloon, around 2:40am Sunday.
Contreras pulled out a pocket knife, and allegedly stabbed the victim 5 times. The victim did require surgery.
A woman who tried to stop the fight also had a stab wound to her leg, according to the complaint.
Contreras remains in the jail on a $100,000 bail.
