On Wednesday afternoon the Minnesota Wilderness announced they have a new General Manager.

Brandon Ferns will now lead the Cloquet-based North American Hockey League (NAHL) squad. He spent the last two years as assistant GM for the NAHL’s Chippewa Steel.

Ferns takes over for Dave Boitz who served as GM for 10 years. He has now been promoted to the organization’s president of operations. Boitz will oversee both the NAHL Wilderness and their newly acquired North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) team.

The home for the NA3HL Wilderness was also revealed on Wednesday. They will play at the historic Hippodrome in Eveleth.
