Ski Hut opens Adventure Center with rental options and proximity to trails
After closing the West Duluth store in 2020, Ski Hut now has a second store again. The Adventure Center is located at 8550 Grand Avenue in Duluth, across from the base of Spirit Mountain, and is also central to the Munger Trail and near other trail centers including the DWP, Mission Creek, and the Western Waterfront Trail.
“It’s so cool to be so close to so many of the trails around here. I know those of us who work in the shop are super excited,” said Marketing Director Jenny Arndt. “You think it’s nice outside, take a little break, hop on the Munger. Or you finish up with work, want to hit some downhill trails, you’ve got Spirit right across the road. That’s such an awesome perk for us.”
The Ski Hut Adventure Center also features rental options.
“The First Street location is already chock full of so many fun toys that people come in to get every day, that we needed a whole separate space to be able to offer you guys the rentals that we wanted to be able to throughout all of the different seasons, all of our different sports,” said Arndt. “We have lots of high-end bike rentals coming into this bike season, so we’re super, super excited for our inaugural season out here.”
Customers can book rentals on the Ski Hut website, on the Adventure Center page or by calling 218-464-5041. There are full suspension mountain bikes, e-bikes, and e-mountain bikes in various sizes for full-day or four-hour rates that vary depending on the type of bike.
“I think it gives an opportunity for people to try a bike. If they’re maybe torn between two styles of mountain bike, they can try them both out and then make a more informed decision as they go to purchase,” said Manager Logan Nelson. “Or a lot of folks, when they travel, it’s not easy to travel with your bike, especially if you’re on a plane. So you can come in just for the weekend and visit family and rent a bike for a shorter excursion.”
This new location will also be able to help if you have issues while out on the trails.
“Say you’re biking in spirit, you blow a flat and you don’t have the tools to be able to fix it, we have a full service department here as well. So for anybody that’s already out riding, whether you’re riding one of our bikes or not, we are here to help. We’re located so central to all of the trail heads that it’s a nice, easy location for folks to come in,” said Arndt.
