Justin Liles: Rain heading our way
High pressure has settled in over the region and has been responsible for our beautiful skies the last two days. A rather robust low working its way across Canada will carry a long line of showers with it. These showers will move in overnight along a cold front and extend all the way down to Arkansas. The severe weather will be much farther south than the Northland. Light rain could lead to some early AM fog near the shoreline of Lake Superior Friday morning.
Overcast skies will stick around through the day after some early morning showers. More rain and possibly a few thunderstorms are possible late Friday. As we head into the weekend temperatures are going to remain on the warm with nearly all the region in the 70s. Daytime sunshine will lead to increasing clouds and the potential for some scattered showers and storms. Nothing severe looks to pop up and most of the pop-up storms will occur late in the afternoon and early evening. This will be our trend through Sunday.
