In Saturday’s Section 7AAA elimination bracket game at Wade Stadium, Hermantown edged Hibbing 2-1 in a highly defensive battle.

Charlie Marchand poked a ball into centerfield to get the Hawks on the board early, but Hibbing bounced back just an inning later as Tate Swanson roped a triple into left field to tie the game at 1-1.

The Hawks would end up scoring the deciding run, advancing to play Chisago Lakes on Tuesday.
