The wind and rain didn’t stop kids from casting their lines into Silver Lake in Virginia on Thursday.

Iron Range Rotary presented the 48th Gary Carlson Memorial Kids’ Fishing Contest.

We met up with 5-year-old Ambrosia, from Virginia, who reeled in a bass that weighed over two pounds! And it happened on her first cast.

Her grandpa, Mike Esler, told us, “We do it every year, it’s a tradition. They love it.”
