A reward is now being offered for information regarding a fire at a historic landmark in Hoyt Lakes. According the the East Range Police Department, $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the fire at the Steven Chambers building on Thursday night, June 6.

Original Story: A fire was reported on Thursday night at a local a historic landmark in Hoyt Lakes. Reports from The Northland Fire Wire said the Steven Chambers building on Highway 110, which was built in the 1930’s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, was on fire.

According to the East Range Police Department, flames could be seen at approximately 9 p.m. An update sent on Friday states the building sustained significant damage. There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities ask that anyone with information about the fire, or were in the area between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to call the East Range Police Department at 218-225-2000.

The Hoyt Lakes Fire Department was assisted by the Hoyt Lakes Ambulance, Aurora Fire, Palo Fire, East Range Police Department and Gilbert Police.
