DECC transformed into giant dental clinic for Mission of Mercy, which continues Saturday

Mission of Mercy providing free dental care at the DECC

A look at the free dental clinic at the DECC called Mission of Mercy.

The Mission of Mercy, Minnesota’s largest no-cost dental clinic, has taken over the DECC this Friday and Saturday.

The event is organized by the Minnesota Dental Association and its major sponsor Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation.

The Mission of Mercy aims to provide dental care to children and adults who are unable to access it, no matter what the cause.

Carmelo Cinqueonce, the Executive Director of the MDA, said, “There’s no questions asked. They come in, and we take care of them, whether it’s extractions or cleanings. We are happy to do it, with the 580 volunteers.”

About two thousand patients are expected to get treatment.

One of them, Kayla Fowler, drove down from Chisholm at 2am to get work done here. She told us she’s had trouble since she was 10 years old getting access to care. This was so easy for her.

“It was a breeze, I can’t thank them enough,” she said.

The doors open again on Saturday at 5:30am.

The Mission of Mercy was also here in 2015.
