Lea Zmurko: A moment of relief, but more rain ahead

June 14: It is a Fabulous Friday

With a break from the rain, sunny and mild weather will stick around the Northland for the start of the weekend.

With a break from the rain, sunny and mild weather will stick around the Northland for the start of the weekend. A few clouds will move out of Northern Wisconsin in the early morning as high pressure takes control. Temperatures will get into the upper 70s, and closer to the low 80s further inland. A southeasterly breeze by the lake will keep things cool and comfortable on the shore.

Puffy clouds will develop in the evening, but no showers can be expected until Saturday afternoon. The chances for rain and thunderstorms will linger into early next week. As an upper-level trough deepens to our west, it brings the chance for heavy rainfall from Sunday to Tuesday. This raises some concern for some flooding in low-lying areas. This active weather pattern is projected to continue through the end of June.
