WisDOT warns high pavement buckling risk Father’s Day weekend
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation warns that warmer temperatures in Wisconsin over the next few days could lead to pavement buckling starting Friday June 14th.
Pavement is at risk for buckling when the temperature swings from cold to hot, causing pavement to expand and push against each other creating unexpected bumps or dips.
Buckling can be hard to predict, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation advises using caution and slowing down while driving, wearing your seatbelt, and watching for slowing traffic and roadside workers.
If you have a trip planned, you can call 511 Travel Information System for the latest information on incidents or delays. If you need to report serious pavement issues call 911 and be ready to provide specific location information.
