K-9 Jack sniffs out the source of a fire
K-9 Jack has been on the job at the Duluth Fire Department since April. He’s trained to sniff out ignitable liquids like gasoline.
His human is DFD Deputy Fire Marshal Adam Casillas.
Together, they work on fire investigations, business inspections, and help educate the public.
“He loves people and the kids love him,” Casillas said of his partner.
Jack has investigated five fires so far in Duluth and assisted with three others outside the area.
“Jack is the only ignitable detection K-9 in the state of Minnesota,” explained Casillas. “So, he’s a state and regional asset.”
