Moose puppet to light the way for Duluth All Souls Night

The new lantern moose for All Souls Night

All Souls Night in Duluth debuts its new lantern moose puppet.

A giant moose lantern puppet will light the way at the 17th annual Duluth All Souls Night. DASN is a multicultural arts festival that’s about acknowledging and transforming grief. The moose will walk in the 17th annual Funeral Procession of Rotten Ideas.

Founding Director Mary Plaster told The Lift, “Having the lantern of a moose glowing, walking slowly down the street- it’s an animal that’s getting more and more rare to be seen. I think it’s going to be quite profound.”

Plaster added, “I expect this moose to last a really long time.”

A grant from Arrowhead Regional Arts Council allowed them enlist the helped Master Artist Andrew Kim who is from the United Kingdom.

“It was a very lovely teaching environment where people were able to learn,” Kim noted. “It’s been a really nice mix of professional artists, some young artists, and some surprisingly amazing high school artists who are interested in this kind of work.”
