Using social media to inspire: Mason Branstrator’s story
It’s been three years since a ski accident at Spirit Mountain changed a Duluth teen’s life. Mason branstrator fractured his T12 vertebrae, leaving him partially paralyzed from the waist down.
While documenting his recovering and reality, Mason has earned himself quite the following.
“I think people want to see other people win, and they want to see other people overcome something hard,” Mason told The Lift that’s why his content resonates with people. “I have shown everything everything from the hard stuff to the victories.”
Mason is now set on making difference in the life of others.
He says that having the right people around you make all the difference, “Sometimes we try to keep everything in, and that’s just one of the worst things you can do. You to talk about those hard things with other people.”
Mason recently completed Grandma’s Marathon and last summer he complete a triathlon.
“About a year after my injury I got back into adaptive sports and recreation. The first people I turned to at that point was Northland Adaptive, which is here local- with Eric Larson and all the great people over there. They really helped me get a great strat with trying our equipment and getting involved in certain things. I just started season all of the opportunities and possibilities at that point.”
