Plenty of people are still cleaning up the remnants of the flooding from two weeks ago.

Senator Amy Klobuchar made some stops in the Northland. Her first one was in Duluth, where she and Mayor Roger Reinert shared more about what can happen after devastation like the 2012 flood.

Thanks to state and federal partnerships, they were able to make major investments in flood mitigation, like putting in bigger culverts.

“I hope this gives hope to communities across the state,” Klobuchar said, as they recapped the work done. More is still ahead, leaders said.

Klobuchar said they are making the case for individual assistance as well, since St. Louis County has likely met the threshold to have federal assistance for public infrastructure.

She also stopped in Biwabik and Cook on Friday.
