Hibbing man arrested in connection to fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking
The Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) arrested Phillip Lamount Davis, 53, of Hibbing on Sunday, July 7 in connection to drug trafficking according the the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
“On July 7, 2024, at 1:47 a.m. a vehicle believed to be conducting a transport of drugs for Davis was stopped by members of the LSVOTF on Hwy 37 near the Hibbing airport,” explained Sgt. Luke Hendrickson with the Sheriff’s office. “A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and approximately 158 grams of methamphetamine was located.”
Authorities then arrested Davis outside his apartment later that morning around 3:47 a.m.
A follow up search warrant led to the discovery of 32 grams of methamphetamine and 51 grams of fentanyl in Davis’ residence.
Davis had previously been indicted in US Federal Court and plead guilty for trafficking methamphetamine. Sentencing was set for October 2024. On July 9, 2024, a federal warrant was issued for Davis, and he remains in federal custody.
