July 19: Sunny weekend with a few showers

The Northland will see a mostly sunny Friday. Temperatures in the low 80s by the afternoon. A few clouds arrive later on, and the evening will be dry and comfortable.

It will be a nice sunny day to kick of the weekend! There will be some passing clouds and areas with patchy fog that will lift after sunrise. Conditions remain quite through the Friday day part. Temperatures will move into the low 80s for the start of the weekend.

There will be a small chance for showers and storms in north-central Minnesota this evening, but greater chances for precipitation will pick up Saturday evening until this upcoming Tuesday. Any rainfall tonight will be a brief period of heavy rain. A cold front will move in from Ontario, Canada overnight and showers will begin to form across the Borderlands.

Storm activity resumes for Saturday afternoon across central Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. Strong storms are unlikely, butt a few tenths of an inch can be expected as the systems pop up and pass over head with localized heavy rain and gusty winds. Rain will depart by the evening hours and Sunday will stay dry.
