Huskies slip past Mud Puppies

The Duluth Huskies fell short against the Minnesota Mud Puppies in their Thursday matchup against the Minnesota Mud Puppies. They returned Friday evening looking to take home a win in the series finale at Wade Stadium.

Huskies started off strong in the bottom of the first, with Cardell Thibodeaux coming home on a walk, then Charlie Sutherland takes his chance on a pass ball – putting the Huskies ahead 2-0.

The Mud Puppies would come back to take the lead 3-2 in the top of the second, with Gavyn Shacher bombing one into center field and bringing in both Harrison Bowman and Matthew Maulik not long after Josh Dykoff put the Mud Puppies on the board.

After tying the score 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh, the Huskies would rally in the eighth to bring in the winning point, taking home the game at 6-5.

The Huskies will return to Wade Stadium on Saturday July 27th to battle the Fond Du Lac Spiders in the first of a two-game series. For more information on the Duluth Huskies, go to Home – Duluth Huskies (northwoodsleague.com)
