On Saturday, the Duluth Tropics shut out Grand Rapids in the American Legion Division 1 substate championship game, winning 11-0.

It was a complete team effort for the Tropics, as their pitching curated a shutout while their hitting got off to a hot start, putting up two runs in both the top of the first and second innings.

The Tropics rolled through the substate playoffs unscathed, a testament the team coming together at the right time.

Their opponent for the 98th Minnesota State American Legion Tournament has not been named yet.
