Duluth Huskies strike down Thunder Bay Border Cats
The Duluth Huskies scored four runs in the first three innings to fuel their 11-3 victory over the Thunder Bay Border Cats Wednesday at Wade Stadium.
The Huskies scored a run a piece in the first two innings, and allowed two in the second, to enter the third tied 2-2. Duluth then added two more runs in the bottom of the third to regain the lead 4-2.
In the fifth inning, the Huskies’ bats exploded as they scored six runs. Among them included a two-run home run by Duluth native Charlie Sutherland. Duluth added a final run in the eighth to secure the 11-3 win.
With the win the Huskies split their series 1-1 with Thunder Bay.
Duluth opens up the month of August visiting Eau Claire Thursday, August 1 at 6:35 p.m. The Huskies have 10 regular season games remaining.
