Sabrina Ullman: Cooler weather after the rain

Rain will persist through the night and clear in the morning. This round of rain is ahead of a cold front that will make temperatures feel like September for the next couple of days.

Tonight will have overnight lows in the 50s. Rainfall amounts will be around a quarter of an inch, and a light southwest wind will become northwest after midnight.

Thursday will be partly sunny with a strong west wind of 10-15 mph. Afternoon highs will be in the 60s with a couple of spots near Lake Superior reaching the low 70s. There is a chance of afternoon rain for areas north of the Iron Range.

Tonight

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 4am, then a chance of showers. Low around 55. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday

A slight chance of showers before 7am, then a slight chance of showers after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday

A 20 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
