Lea Zmurko: Is it summer or fall? We have another cool August day!
The Northland will be seeing another day with highs in the mid-sixties due to the persistent cloud coverage and spotty showers sticking around. With a breeze from the northwest at 10-15 mph, the conditions will remain cool and windy all day long.
Still seeing a slight chance for some scattered showers in the afternoon across the Arrowhead and the Iron Range. More scattered showers are also likely in northern Wisconsin due to lake effect rain. With the water surface temperatures across Lake Superior being 10-15 degrees warmer than the air above there is a slightly increased chance of waterspouts developing along the Apostle Islands and Saxon Harbor in the late afternoon to early evening.
This is the last day in the cool stretch as we will see temperatures return to the seventies by Saturday afternoon and then near normal values by the start of next week. The sunshine will stick around through Tuesday before some mid-week rainstorms develop.
