Jackson Marthaler announced on twitter Thursday that he has committed to playing hockey for UMD after his high school graduation. Marthaler will be joining Victor Plante for the 2026-27 hockey season with the Bulldogs.

In the 2023-24 season Marthaler racked in six goals and one assist over eighteen games played with Superior High School, and three assists in eight games played with team Wisconsin 16U AAA.

The defenseman also became a gold medalist under Team USA in the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games, which was the first U.S. gold since 2016.

Marthaler is slated to compete in the U.S. National Development Program’s U17 team this upcoming 2024-25 season.
