Victim identified in fatal Superior crash

The Superior Police Department has confirmed that a 33-year-old Superior resident was killed in a car vs. motorcycle crash Monday morning, August 12. He has been identified as Richard Larsen.

“At approximately 4:50 a.m., officers from the Superior Police Department were dispatched to a reported traffic crash with injury on Stinson Avenue just west of Hill Avenue,” explained Lt. Michelle Pope. “Officers arrived on the scene and learned the operator of a motorcycle had been struck by a vehicle while both were traveling eastbound on Stinson Avenue.”

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene due to their injuries. According to Pope, the driver of the other vehicle was a juvenile and did not suffer any injury. Police believe that speed was a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
