Sabrina Ullman: Cool and rainy weather returns

August 15: Dreary weather across the Northland

It will be a rainy and dreary Thursday in the mid-sixties across the Northland as we end the week with cooler temperatures.

The rain we have been talking about all week is on track to arrive late tonight. Areas south of the Twin Ports will have scattered showers arriving just in time for morning rush hour. By the afternoon, we will have widespread, heavy rain.

Overnight lows will be near 60 degrees tonight, and our Thursday will not get much warmer. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s, and we will have plenty of rain alongside a gusty east wind.

Rain will linger into Friday but gradually become lighter as this low-pressure system exits the region. Cooler temperatures stay for one more day as highs will be near 70 degrees.

We just have to deal with these two days of rain, and then we are in for a lovely weekend. Sunny skies and afternoon highs near 80 degrees will be the trend this weekend into early next week.
