Lea Zmurko: Clouds and scattered storms
Cool air moves in and disrupts the heat wave. Winds shift to the northeast and bring temperatures down into the mid-70s throughout the Northland today.
Weaker showers and storms will move along the North Shore this morning, many will see rain and overcast skies as they head out the door.
The dark skies and dreary conditions will continue as a few more showers and thunderstorms will be scattered all day long. There are chances for isolated strong to severe storms in northwest Wisconsin by the afternoon. The potential hazard for the elevated storms is 1 inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
Calm weather will move in for the middle of the week with temperatures remaining in the mid-60s along with some peaks of sunshine, but then another chance for thunderstorms will arrive for Thursday. Conditions will revert to quiet weather for the long weekend ahead with some cooler mornings as we reach the end of summer.
