Head of the Lakes United Way ends Stuff the Bus in Two Harbors
Head of the Lakes United Way ended their annual Stuff the Bus event in Two Harbors. Throughout the summer, the non-profit organization were collecting school supplies to help kids start the school year prepared.
Erin Grabinger says they will be distributing school supplies to kids in need before the school year begins.
“This is our last event for Stuff the Bus this summer. We had a lot of fun this month collecting school supplies for all the local schools. This one specifically goes to the Lake Superior School District.”
Grabinger also says they are thankful for help from local businesses in the area like Castle Danger, Park State Bank, and Two Harbors Federal Credit Union.
“People are always excited to support kids, and make sure they are able to start the school year with the supplies they need. So they can really start the school year strong, because it’s hard to do that, if you don’t have everything you need off the bat. So we’ve been really grateful for the community,” Grabinger said.
Andrea Arabanos, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Castle Danger Brewery says they couldn’t wait to help with Stuff the Bus.
“We are just thrilled anytime we can work with our community partners. Head of the Lakes United Way is just one of our favorites. As soon as we have the opportunity to do a stuff the bus with them, we jumped on board,. We jumped on the bus, literally!” Arabanos said. “It’s just such a great cause. We’re just so happy to have them here.”
Arabanos says plenty of people celebrated the accomplishment of Stuff the Bus where more than 1,200 items were donated.
“Bringing school supplies helps so many kids and the teachers. Just making sure the classrooms are ready for the start of the school year, anything people can bring helps,” Arabanos said. “From pencils to scissors, to notepads, to tissue. The need is always great this time of year.”
The other total donated items in the Northland were over 1,200 items donated in Duluth and Superior. Also in Ashland more than 500 items were donated for Head of the Lakes United Way’s Stuff the Bus. That brings in a total of over 4,100 items donated to help kids start the school year on the path to success.
