Oliver Bridge to close for inspection beginning September 9
Residents and tourists traveling between Superior and Gary New Duluth should be aware that the Oliver Bridge will be closed to traffic Monday, September 9 through Friday, September 13.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says the bridge located over the St. Louis River at the junction of Minnesota Hwy 39 and Wisconsin Hwy 105, will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
CN Railway will be inspecting the bridge and MnDOT will put changeable message signs in place by Friday, September 6 to notify the public of upcoming closures. The bridge will close at 8:30 a.m. each day, and all equipment will be removed and the bridge will be re-opened to traffic by 4:30 p.m. each day.
