On Thursday Superior High School hosted the fourth annual Dan Conway Classic cross country meet at Pattison Park Golf Course. Schools from across the Northland were in attendance, including teams from Duluth, Moose Lake, Solon Springs and beyond.

In the girls varsity 5000 meter Duluth East would go one, two, three. Sasha Wahman took first with a time of 19 minutes 41.3 seconds. Anna-Britta Helmer came in second with a time of 19:47.6, and Carolina Arvold nabbed third place in 19:49.9.

In the boys varsity 5000 meter, Ashland’s Tristan Blancarte raced to a first place finish with a time of 17:02.1. He was nine seconds ahead of second place finisher Mark Goettel (17:11.1) of Duluth East. The Greyhounds’ also took third as Joey Gustafson finished in 17:18.0.
