Tech Bytes: Videogame designers reach new contract

In today's Tech Bytes from ABC News: Videogame editors have reached a new contract, New Mexico is suing Snapchat, and robot vacuums are leveling up.

Progress in the gaming industry strike: Union workers began striking in July after negotiations with gaming giants came to a halt. Workers were concerned video game voice actors could be replicated by AI and used without compensation. Yesterday, the unions announced tentative agreements with 80 individual video games, securing wage improvements and protections around AI.

New Mexico is suing Snapchat over its disappearing messages, alleging the platform helps predators target kids. The attorney general claims images can be permanently saved and shared. Snapchat says it’s reviewing the lawsuit and is committed to user safety.

Robot vacuums are leveling up. Roborock’s new model can lift itself to handle thick rugs and even reach higher obstacles. It launches later this month for $1,400.
