Lea Zmurko: The sunny stretch continues for the end of the work week.

September 13: Still seeing sunshine

Seeing sunshine and dry skies today ahead of some isolated showers and rain for Saturday afternoon, but we will end on a high note with temperatures in the upper 70s by Sunday.

Dense fog will sit along the South Shore of Lake Superior this morning and slowly retreat as conditions brighten and temperatures rise mid-morning.

It will be a dry and sunny Friday with temperatures in the mid-70s to low 80s as winds from the east continue to persist across the lake. The breeze will keep conditions cooler along the North Shore in the low 70s, but partly cloudy skies will still be widespread.

Some rain is expected to cross the Northland later tonight and in the early morning hours. The residual moisture associated with tropical cyclone Francine will be making its way into the mid-west.  A few isolated showers and thunderstorms will make it across the Twin Ports and northern Wisconsin by the early evening.

There will be more rain chances continue next week as spotty showers and isolated storms are more likely. We will see a few more warm days early next week with temperatures in the low 80s as we continue this gradual transition to fall.
