The UMD women’s hockey team is facing a new type of season this year, with just the third head coach in program history, Laura Schuler.

With Schuler at the helm, the makeup of the team may be a bit different, but the identity is as strong as ever.

“Our team is going to continue to be a very well-structured, disciplined team, a team that’s capable of playing at pace, a team that is free to play creative within their given structure, and a team that’s free to be interchangeable and take a ton of chances,” shared Schuler.

The Bulldogs open up their season this weekend with a tough task, against first ranked Ohio State, before returning home next weekend for a clash with Syracuse.
