2024 ATV MN Ride and Rally off to a great start

2024 MN ATV Ride and Rally in Grand Rapids this year

Hundreds of ATV riders are enjoying Itasca and Aitkin counties this weekend during the ATV MN Ride and Rally.

The President’s Ride is on the books for the 2024 ATV MN Ride and Rally.

Nearly 170 riders headed out from Grand Rapids Friday morning, and met for lunch at the Trails Inn Quadna Mountain Motel and RV Campground.

“It’s exciting to have everyone here. We love the trails ourselves,” shared Shawn Pehrson, owner of Trails Inn.

This Ride and Rally is the biggest fundraiser of the year for ATV MN. “Money raised goes towards trail development and safety training for kids and adults,” explained Steve Ferraro, the ride organizer and treasurer for host club Rapids Riders.

Sherrie Porth is a rider and a sponsor. She and her husband run Loon Point Resort. “It’s north of Grand Rapids, and right on the ATV trail. We decided to sponsor, so we can encourage everyone to come out to the northwoods.”

It moves each year, and hasn’t been in the Grand Rapids area for about ten years, according to their president Ron Potter.

“We try and cover the state, and we haven’t been back here in 10 years. It’s nice to get back and see the improvements they’ve made to the trails, and connect with the community again,” Potter said.

Ray’s Sport and Cycle was on hand with gear and merchandise. Jake Wedge, the General Manager, said they are happy to support this event.

And Visit Grand Rapids is thrilled to have so many riders in town. “They are good stewards of the land, and stay on the trails. They go out in our restaurants and bars,” shared Meg Christianson, Executive Director.
