Lea Zmurko: A crisp morning followed with plenty of sun

September 24: Another cool start

The cool temperatures this morning will climb well into the mid sixties this afternoon as the sunny stretch sticks around the Northland.

A few early morning scattered showers will clear by sunrise. The light rain passes across the Brainerd Lakes region northward into the western portions of the Iron Range. Accumulation will be in the hundredths of an inch and the ground will be just damp as we start the morning.

The rest of the day will be mostly sunny as temperatures will climb into the mid-60s and low 70s further inland with plenty of daytime heating. A light wind from the east will keep conditions cooler along the North Shore.

Tonight, will be cool with the crisp fall air as temperatures will drop to the upper forties with a clear night sky. There will be some fog developing overnight that will clear mid-morning.

The next few days will also remain dry, and temperatures will climb into the mid-seventies in the late afternoons with clear skies and plenty of sunshine. This stretch with unseasonable temperatures will last into the weekend before conditions start to cool off again with the arrival of some showers early next week.
