Veterans featured in film called What I Want You To Know, screenings in Duluth this week

There are two screenings of an independent film called “What I Want You To Know” coming up this week in Duluth.

It asks you to listen to the difficult truths veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan want us to know. This 90 minute movie delivers profoundly honest veteran experiences that are usually spoken about only in private.

This movie has an essential message for former combat veterans – many of whom may be having difficulty dealing with their experiences. You are not alone. It also has a message the American public needs to hear. It raises questions for every citizen: What was it all for? Why were we lied to? What’s to stop it from happening again?

Veterans for Peace, the Alworth Center for the Study of Peace and Justice at the College of St. Scholastica and the Alworth Institute for International Studies at the University of Minnesota – Duluth are sponsoring two free public showings of the movie.

Garett Reppenhagen, one of the Iraq veterans in the movie, is coming to Duluth to present the movie and meet with veterans, students and the public at two separate public events.
