The chair of the gala committee, Randali Watson, said, “We’ve been working really hard to bring the community together, current members and future members. And we want to bring everyone together to celebrate what Mesabi Fit has accomplished so far.”

Proceeds to benefit the Mark Phillips Fund, which provides access to Mesabi Fit at a reduced rate for qualifying families and individuals.

Mesabi Fit is a non-profit that formed after the former YMCA closed its doors.

Operations Director Cooper McLean told us, “We have north of 1700 members now.”

He added that they’ve partnered with 23rd Veteran and the Minnesota Wilderness hockey program.
