It is another warm day for the end of September, as conditions remain abnormally dry, and temperatures are still elevated as we close out the month.

The southerly winds will sustain speeds of 10-20 mph with gusts of 30 mph likely. Dew points will continue to drop across central Minnesota. With gusty winds and warm dry air all day long, a Red Flag Warning has been placed in effect across northern Minnesota as the dry and breezy conditions are favorable for spreading flames.

We are still waiting on some rain after quite a dry stretch, there is a slight chance for some passing showers in the evening along the cold front. The showers will be light as the air is still very dry, but temperatures will start to drop this evening and October will have a seasonable start. Winds will shift to the west behind the front and the gusty wind speeds will continue.

Overnight lows will be in the mid-40s and then tomorrow conditions will continue to be breezy, but cooler as the highs will reach only the mid-60s. A few more chances for light rain and early morning frost later this week
