Include Exhibit at Udac showcases the progress made for people with disabilities
A celebration of the journey to increased independence and integration for people with disabilities is showcased in a 17 panel display called the Include Exhibit. It was put together by the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Development Disabilities.
The exhibit is co-hosted by Udac and the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce. On Tuesday, a chance to come see it at the Udac building. It was good timing, since October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
There are so many more rights for people with disabilities, from voting to higher education. Especially compared to the early 1900s, when not even many photographs were taken of people with disabilities.
In fact, a new state law in 2023 makes higher education a priority. Lake Superior College is getting the first grant to help make enrollment more accessible.
You can request to have the exhibit at your school or organization.
