No. 3 UMD women’s hockey ready for No. 7 Colgate despite unique off week
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team pulled off a pair of stunning wins to open their season against Ohio State University. However, that was two weeks ago. Syracuse University had to postpone last weekend’s series at AMSOIL Arena due to travel troubles cause by Hurricane Helene.
So, the Bulldogs battled themselves in intra-squad scrimmages to stay ready for Colgate University this week.
“We made some tweaks in our Ohio State game from day one to day two, and we continued to see them execute at a high pace in the inner squad game. So it was great to see them to be able to take some of those tweaks and still be able to apply it. It wasn’t a one and done thing,” head coach Laura Schuler said.
No. 3 UMD (2-0) is back on the road again this weekend visiting No. 7 Colgate (1-1) in Hamilton, New York. Game one is Friday at 5 p.m. and game two is Saturday at 2 p.m.
